This leporine boulder nestled among the bushes deep in the forest of Fontainebleau would have attracted the observant painter or photographer. Reine Blanche (Snow White) was the twisted, hollow oak tree named by Barbizon painters. It was a readily identifiable landmark in many Barbizon landscapes of the forest.
